Okay, I've spent the past few days fiddling with options and configurations left and right in dolphin and I simply cannot get the third level of crash mode to work on Burnout 2: Point of Impact. Every time I try, as soon as the loading screen comes up, I get the following error message:

Unknown pointer address report this to devs 00000019
Continue?

[yes] [no]

If I click yes, the game advances a single frame and the warning comes back up. I've tried holding enter and the error message flashes with every frame really quickly, right on through into the level. The game is actually working in the background, but the warning message keeps me from being able to play.

If I click no, Dolphin stops responding and has to close.

Oh, and one other thing I was wondering about. I have a collection of games that I'd like to consolidate onto my computer, but not all of it is in cd/dvd format. Is it legal (and I'm not asking for any information on how to do so) to download roms and images that I have the actual game of? Once again, I'm not looking for any information on how to do so, I'm just wondering where the line stands between legal and illegal.

The unknown pointer problem used to happen alot on Skies Of Arcadia: Legends also, basically the way to get past it is to tap the enter key on the yes options and it will go away after 10-20 of this message popping up. This is the only way i know to get past the unknown pointer problem, hope it helped.

It is still illegal because each game has a few bytes that are unique to that disc and if they are different than your copy of the disc it's illegal

Ah...well...crap. Heh...anybody know how to get an image file for gba and gc games? ^.^;; *scurries off to delete his image of burnout then comes back*

Oh, btw, it does it for a lot more than 10 - 20 frames, lol. I tried holding down the enter button and it flashed really quickly through the second half of the loading screen all the way into the part where the menu came up for me to hit the a button to start the race.

Hm...wonder if getting an image straight from the disc will resolve the problem...

well i found with Skies Of Arcadia the unknown problem occured less and less with every revision so you might just need to keep trying different revisions till you find one which works for that game

You could try turning off Panic Alerts. It doesn't fix the pointer issue, but since the issue seems to not affect gameplay at all, it would suppress the error (preventing you from needing to hold down enter to get past the dialog boxes) and let you play.
