Just update dolphin to r5991 newest version and take a testing .

According to the changing log of r5991, I may understand the performance should increase again than the older ... but it's not in my expectancy...

Look at the screenshots, it almost got back to the r5968 ...

    r5985

    r5991

Anyway, thank the developers for their effort and keep your advance .
My desktop equipment:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 overclocking to 3.5Ghz
Memory: 4Gbytes DDR2 running in 800MHZ
Graphics:nVIDIA GTX260+ with 216 SP
Systen : Windows 7 x64

You are the only one reporting this, double check your configuration and ensure there are no background processes eating cpu. These commits didn't have any negative impacts on speed/performance, in fact everyone else but you is reporting improved performance.

By the way, I'm still getting the same speed as before if not slightly better, these commits in no way affected speed or performance negatively so definitely do as I've mentioned above.

Actually, I did a test of my own, Wii Play with no Frame limit.
Against r5986 I noticed a minor frame drop, but I do mean minor.
It can't always been performance boosts though, optimisation also means improving overall stability.

A slight drop in fps could mean anything, such as background processes eating more cpu, Dolphin is very cpu dependent just like PCSX2 is. I've noticed absolutely no drops in speed, actually slightly better speed and lower cpu usage compared to previous revisions. Dolphin is still not back up to the speed it was about 100 - 500 or more revisions ago, but that is the price for accuracy, hopefully they can optimize enough to lessen the performance loss that comes with accurate emulation.

Background processes? I somewhat doubt that because I tested r5986, and immediately tested r5991 afterwards.

Configuration or something else then? No issues with performance here, same speed as always if not better...

I've taken the testing very prudently. The testing between the newer version and the older one was almost made at the same time. And each testing has been run for 5 times to avoid variability.

I also ensure that there was NO any other processes which were eating cpu while the testing runing...Otherwise, I just wanna that the modification of the newest revision could be double checked to confirm if there was any bugs which could affect the performance .

Can't help ya then, you are the only really one reporting this issue so it's probably something on your end. Can't imagine the developers will do anything either until there is more widespread reports of the same issue you are experiencing, this doesn't seem to be the case as everyone is reporting slightly better performance, not worse. The commits were optimizations, virtually zero chance of these commits negatively affecting speed in any way.

Testing all my games has confirmed that the past commits had no affect on performance, at least no performance issues. All my games still run at the same speed, perhaps a bit better than before, there is definitely no massive framerate drops like you are reporting, not even one or two fps less.
