If you still face problems, then try Bluetooth Passthrough.
Also, your profile says that your are using 5.0, which is too old and might be the reason for this problem. You should use the latest beta/development version. Since the latest builds don’t have a download for Linux users, you’d have to build the latest version for your POP OS yourself. I forgot to update it, I'm using 5.0-14899 on POP!_OS, which should be fine for Wiimotes (theoretically, I just compiled it two days ago)
