Unable to turn in SpongeBob's Boating Bash?

So for some reason I'm unable to actually turn in SpongeBob's Boating Bash. I've experimented with almost every single different configuration of the Tilt/Swing motion simulation but nothing has fixed it. The problem that occurs is that input is detected and the vehicle is able to turn, but pretty much immediately after inputting the direction I want to go the input just goes away and resets to 0. Removing all swing input and just having left/right tilt input set results in no turns being detected. Video here: https://youtu.be/5CJb1i5FvRo. Pretty much every jerk/twitch of the motor is a single held-down input from me.

This issue also occurs on certain Wii Party mini-games, such as Friendly Face-Off where I have to utilize some form of tilt/swing input in order to flip the puzzle pieces. This issue does not occur, however, on Mario Kart Wii, with the same tilt/swing settings.

I would like to attach the controller configuration I used to this post but of course I am not allowed to.

As requested, this Imgur album contains a screenshot of my Motion Simulation panel. These settings are the same ones that I used in the video I linked in my original message, that seems to cause the behavior to the least extent. I know the settings look weird, but this is, believe it or not, one of the configurations that reduces the incorrect behavior. I have also tried many other different setups and combinations, none of which work either. This pastebin link contains the full text of my controller configuration.

Thanks!
