Hey, I have a Huawei mate 8, if I choose sd card as my default storage medium then the emulator doesn't create a folder on the SD card and doesn't save any setting or change I make, but if I switch to internal storage as my default then it works perfectly, any suggestions? My SD card is larger and soni use that as my storage and not internal

It looks like Dolphin doesn't have permission to write your external SD card. Usually, apps will ask for permission to write to the Sd card when you first start using them. What you'll need to do is go into the settings and look for the section that deals with app permissions. This function could also be in the "Apps or Applications" section. Now look for Dolphin, tap on it and see if you can manually enable the "write to external storage" permission. That should fix the issue.

Thanks, but that's the first thing i did, it only has one permission request and thats storage, and thats granted, just doesn't seem to want to function when that my sd is set to internal storage

Is that Android 6.0's ability to make the SD card the internal storage?  The one that formats and encrypts the SD card?  If that's the case, try turning off the "write to external storage" permission.  It could be that Dolphin is confused and trying to write to an external storage that doesn't exist.

Android 7.0, Emui 5 actually, no it isn't where you format the SD as internal, just you can choose the SD as the default storage, maybe a bug in Emui, oh well lol, thanks for trying to help

Unfortunately part of the emulator code is hardcoding the path of the user directory to be /sdcard/dolphin-emu. I assume your device has a different path when you switch to use sdcard. Can you use any file browser and go to the root path of your sdcard and post back here that path to confirm the issue.

yeah that seems to be the issue, if i try to take a screenshot the emu says could not open path //sdcard/dolphinemu but my sd card path is //storage/DB1A-2655, i guess that's the problem is there somewhere i can like report the issue or is it like stuck that way

the dolphin folder weighs on 600 mb, what has real weight are the games, but you can place wherever you want, I would avoid at this point to try to move it, you could only cause problems to the app

ita

la cartella delfino pesa su 600 mb, quello che ha il vero peso sono i giochi, ma puoi metterlo dove vuoi, eviterei a questo punto di provare a spostarlo, potresti solo causare problemi all'app
