Exclamation
I've recently installed Dolphin along with a game, and I quickly realized that no matter what I tried, I could not control anything; I couldn't even get a cursor to show up. I did some research and tried many things, but to no avail. I can connect my Wiimote to the computer and emulator but it doesn't do anything. I would appreciate if I could get some help with this.

Update: I can't believe I didn't think of this before, but is a sensor bar required for a real Wiimote? Even if that would fix the real wiimote problems, I still am unable to use the emulated wiimote.

A sensor bar (or, more specifically, two physical objects that produce infrared) is required only for things that require you to point the Wiimote at the screen. Everything else, including buttons and accelerometer/gyrometer controls, works fine if you just connect with Bluetooth. Also if you don't feel like going out and buying a sensor bar, you can literally use two candles spaced a bit apart and it'll work. I mean, until they burn out anyway.

Thanks, and how do candles help with the infrared? My main problem is that not even the emulated wiimote works for me. I can't even get a cursor to show up on the screen, let alone control anything.

Ignore all of the button 1's in the swing settings, I was just trying something out.

I'm not sure if this is stating the obvious, but have you tried changing the device at the top left? If you are trying to use your Wii remote, you probably don't want your keyboard selected.
(Don't hurt me if this is wrong I've only used Xbox controllers with Dolphin yet)

Yes I did, I changed it to my external mouse and my trackpad and neither worked.

I finally managed to get the real wiimote to work with the candles, although whether or not the cursor will appear is inconsistent at best. I tried to use it in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword but I would get the error message "Wiimote disconnected by emulated software". Does anyone know why this would have happened and how to fix it?
