I am using the official real Wii MotionPlus + Nunchuck to play "Skyward Sword". I don't have a wireless sensor bar, so I downloaded downloaded Dolphin 3.0-243 and set it to "Hybrid Wiimote". This build lets me get past the calibration and play the game with my MotionPlus controller. I just got the beetle, and I can't seem to steer it left or right with the MotionPlus (it moves up and down okay but it won't turn left or right unless I wildly flail the controller around at random).

Does the beetle need the sensor bar to control properly? I can't imagine why else the controls are so bad, any suggestions greatly appreciated --- thanks!

A sensor bar is recommended for this game.
And you'd better use a "classical" build since you're using a real Wiimote. Or use emulated Wiimote + Nunchuk but it's a real challenge to beat the game like that Big Grin
