I am trying to compress my Smash Bros. Brawl .iso file into a .gcz file, like I have with my other games, but Dolphin is unable to. I'm guessing this is to do with it being dual layer. Is there any way to allow Dolphin to compress it? The game runs just fine when I run it.

Also, is there any way to change the blue text colour? Picky I know, but it's annoying having uncompressed games with black text alongside compressed games with blue text.

It should. Mine is compressed just fine.

Maybe. But there might be an issue with your iso too. If I remember correctly (but I might be wrong) your file size is smaller than it should be. I'll confirm that as soon as I can (or someone else will)

For additional info, I used USB Loader GX to transfer the .iso file from the Wii disc to the HDD, WBFS Manager to extract the .iso file, and it's the PAL version.

I have NTSC-J version . If I remember correctly , the .iso file should be around 8GB in size , 7.3GB after I compress it to gcz

Yeah same thing here. 7.3 GB in .gcz format (PAL version).
Are you sure your file isn't in .wbfs format. Both .gcz and .wbfs format have quite similar sizes. And that would explain why Dolphin doesn't wanna compress it

Absolutely positive it is an .iso file.

Hmm I'll grab the Xenoblade Chronicles .iso later on and see if that is able to be compressed, which could indicate that it's a dual layer problem if it doesn't work (another dual layer game I think).

FYI, I have it in .wbfs, and the file is splitted in 2 files with a total of 6,74Go in the game list that show only the 1st file of 4,0Go

I think it's actually a compressed ISO with wrong extension.

Update:

Managed to compress Xenoblade Chronicles just fine, and that's dual layer. Must have been a fault somewhere down the line when using USB Loader GX or WBFS Manager to get Brawl, I'll try the whole process again later. Thanks guys.

Your SSBB is only 7.4 GB, your dumper must have reduced the size by removing dummy data.
Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
16Gb RAM; Raedon HD 7900;
Win8 64-Bit
