Hi All,

This is my first ever post and i'd just like to thank you for providing a superb emulator, i never thought that an emu for the wii would be along so soon, the gamecube was a shock but the wii being emulated is just a major accomplishment so my hat comes off to you. Well done devs.

Anyway, onto my problem: I have got several roms of which someone in my family owns the originals, Zelda WW, mario kart double dash, the new super mario bros, smash bros brawl, to name but a few.

Now i don't know if it has been written yet, and my graphics are running perfectly in the most part, but for the life of my i can't seem to get both of my xbox360 controllers configured for two player gaming and for games like brawl and doubledash, i think it is part of the attraction and which makes them great games.

Please could someone give me a pointer or even a config file of their setup so i can get to having a game of brawl and enjoy this emulator as it should be.

I have tried to do this myself over and over but the second controller is eluding me, and i think it is something quite simple which i'm overlooking.

I am using Windows 7 64bit
AMD Phenom 2 x4 3.0ghz Black edition (940)
MSI 790GX dka, motherboard
4 gig ram
8800gs
xtreme drivers (hacked)
loads of hdd space 1tb

The version of dolphin i am using is Dolphin SVN R 4771, the plugin's i'm using are the generic ones which came with the emulator built in

Graphics: Dolphin d3d9
Sound (DSP): Dolphin DSP HLE
Pad: Dolphin KB/xbox360pad
Wiimote: Dolphin wiimote

Like i said the emulator is fantastic, it's just this controller problem i'm having, I don't fully understand the jargon and some of the switches in the config files but i understand most of it to get at least one pad working and playable frame rates 40 - 60fps even more if i don't limit it, with near perfect sound.

Some games don't work but most do.

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this.

Cheers.

PS: if there is anything else you need to know from me then please ask away.

Make sure you enable the pads in the main Dolphin config, "Gamecube" tab. "Port 1" "Port 2"
R4771 is a bit old, a newer version might work better/ faster.

Hi Billiard26 and thank you for replying, I actually have got both ports switched on, port 1 and 2, I am happy with the overall performance of this emulator it is only the controllers i am missing, i don't really want to mess with the settings but if you think compatibility and performance can be improved with a newer version then excellent, do you know of any reputable places to download a build with plug ins? as I've had a problem finding those too (plug ins)

Any other ideas regarding the controls? I will look for a newer version of the emu tonight.

Cheers.

Mamario's builds are good. They can be found in the SVN forum section.
Newer revisions have the GCPadNew plugin, which should work better than the old GCPad.

EDIT (I always forget to remove the Quote text)

When you are in the GCpad config for the 2 controllers, there should be a dropdown box listing the available controllers. If this does not list both controllers then your OS may not be recognizing them both. When you installed the controller (if its an official 360 not an offbrand) there should been a program that manages them. I believe there is a setting in that which gives each additional controller a different serial number so that its recognized as a second controller in other programs.
Xbox360 Controller and Xbox360 Controller-2 is how mine show up in the drop down.
I am on windows XP MCE2005

Both of my pads are official 360's and as per my original post, I have win 7 x64.

The version i had didn't have gcpad plugin, so i copied it over from the new installation files over to the old one and it works now using gcpad.

The games whoever work by a country mile better on the older version of the emulator and i will be sticking with that one.

Many Thanks.
