Just for the sake of argument. and this is only at 2.0GHz. They are not the same architecture, my CPU is much better than yours.

Im so tempted to go to 2 ghz = 0. Whats your temp at 2.3 or 2? I wonder if a cooling pad would work.

Go to the P-state section, select the P0, then the FID drop down menu can be set to the number that sets the speed to 2000 (the number will be different from your laptop to mine, so I can't say what it is), hit apply. Play some games, check your temps often. If you get above 74C (that's my comfort level, yours can be higher or lower), stop playing and let it cool down. When you're done playing, set the P0 FID back to 1500. If you feel like it, post some game speed shots of before and after with the fps difference (Mario Galaxy probably won't benefit much, but other games will). I have no idea what the long term or even the short term affects of doing this will be, so it's your call. You can think about going to 2.3GHz if you like as well, but that's up to you. Don't let it get too hot!

These are just some reminders:

1) Check your temperatures
2) Check your temperatures
3) Check your temperatures
4) Keep the laptop plugged in and set the power options to high performance
5) Don't change anything else outside of the P0 area (if you don't know, don't touch it)
6) When you're done, set the P0 back to where it was originally (1500)

Dolphin settings:

1) Use DX9
2) Use EFB to Texture
3) Set the frame limit to off, no limit for now
4) Check off "skip EFB access from CPU" and "ignore format changes"
5) Set the Internal Resolution to 1x for now (no AA), use this for getting your max IR level http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=20712

All of that should be pretty clear, let me know how it goes.

I've looked at some other guides as well, there is no need to raise the voltage here. Raising the voltage is what can get you in trouble. Everything I've explained here is exactly how I did it and it works without issues. You're free to take my suggestions or use other guides, obviously. Do what's best for you.

Actually his cpu is better than yours for dolphin. Llano is basically an athlon II with a dynamic clock rate, 32nm die shrink, integrated graphics processor, slightly faster memory controllers, 4MB of L2 cache instead of 2MB, and no HT bus. At the same clock rates with the same GPU your cpu would outperform his. However his cpu is going to be running at a clock rate that is about 50% higher than yours, that means his cpu should be faster (take a look at some mobile llano A8 reviews that pit it against a desktop athlon II X4, the athlon IIs almost always win in any non-synthetic test).

However your GPU is A LOT better than his. He has a radeon HD 3000 integrated GPU, which is painfully slow and will bottleneck his system even at 1x IR. With that gpu your system is going to run dolphin faster than his for sure, but it's not because of the cpu (please don't blow up on me for correcting you *NaturalViolence backs away in fear*).

How are you coming up with 50% higher clock rate? If I was at 2.6GHz, I believe the LLano would win.

So at 2ghz gamecube games run with almost no lag with 2 players and the only wii game that worked at full speed was mario kart. paper mario/brawl were still 30-40 fps. My temps range from 61 to 71, usually at 71 ( max im willing to go). How long do you suggest i oc for at 70 degrees? also will 2.3 get brawl/paper mario to work at around 70 degrees?
