Twilight princess crashes and stutters

Trying to play twilight princess (GC) on dolphin 5.0-9888 however it stutters like crazy during the intro with link on his horse. I can get through the naming my character and horse (very choppily) but during the cutscene afterwards it will always crash and take me back to my games setting. I've heard of there being a speed hack but I'm not sure how to apply it using my android, and all threads about that and the game crashing have gotten me nowhere. Looking for help getting this to run at 30fps without crashing thanks in advance for any help

The speedhack only helps in areas where the minimap is being drawn, so if you're having trouble running the title screen and file select, I don't think the speedhack is going to make the game playably fast.

So turns out the speed hack is enabled, and I was able to get past the introduction cutscene but I still experience crashes, usually when switching between cutscene and gameplay, and when the target practice opens up. I'm barely topping 20fps in most parts and sometimes it goes as low at 6. Any help speeding it up on my Huawei would be helpful

Hmm, which Huawei device do you have? It may not be powerful enough to run TP at playable speeds. Have you tried using the Vulkan backend or adjusting the emulated clock speed?

Vulkan fixed the crashes for the most part however it's still very laggy almost consistently. The only time it reaches 30fps is when the screen is black. I'm using a Huawei p20, not the pro

Emulated clock speed is currently set around 50%

Hmm, looking at the specs of your phone(mainly the Kirin 970), it's right around the performance of Qualcomm's 835. It will probably struggle a bit with higher demanding games like Twilight Princess. How does it do with games like SSB Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash?

The topic already says 5.0-9888 and Android, and that must mean it's 64-bit.

Yep. 32-bit support was dropped quite a sometime ago(2015 I think?). In hindsight, that turned out to be a smart move. No 32-bit android chipset has been powerful enough run even lightweight games decently. Not to mention their thermal issues, the Snadpdragon 805 comes to mind.
