Gives me more music to listen to on my PC, yay.

Now I just need an easy method, preferably batch, of converting the audio to MP3 so I can use it on my iPod.
Also noticed that Twilight Princess uses .ast instead of .brstm, but it works all the same.

Just start the Start.bat , then you get the stereo track splitted in right and left , just join them with audacity ( the problem with that is that you have to put the effects manually ( loops and fade out ))

Tutorial - Extract music and sounds from your Wii/GC iso and listen it in your pc

1. Download Winamp here and install it
2. Download in_cube.dll here and extract it in Winamp plugin directory (C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins)
3. Open dolphin
4. Select your iso (ex: mario kart wii)
5. Right-Click on and 'Properties'
6. Click on 'File System'
Now:
Search the sound directory (ex: partition 1\sound\strm for mario kart wii)
7. Right-Click on your file (usually .brstm for wii .hps for gc but there are others) and 'Extract file...'
8. Select the directory where you want to put your sound and open it with Winamp

Finally have some fun listening your fav games music! Smile

if i try to convert the .brstm files with winamp, it says the decoder could not be found Undecided

if i try to use the program linked by KHRZ, the file created is .brstm as well.

is there any other program to convert .brstm to .mp3 or similar?

i used winamp pro 5.52 for this.

any help would be appreciated. Big Grin

ONLY rip and convert music when game publisher don't release a OST (original soundtrack) disc. Stop use and delete your ripped music immediately if they do so.

Own yourself a legal copy of the game, this will support your publisher.

Do this as your own risk of any illegal actions.

If you agree, you may proceed.

What you will need:
1. Dolphin emulator, probably REV 4913 or above.
2. Winamp and with in_cube.dll plug-in installed.
3. Your game copy and its ISO file.

You have to extract your music some where 1st, you will be able to do it with this tutorial: ssbbtriforce tutorial for ripping music

Step 1. open your music with Winamp
[Image: Step1.jpg]

Press Alt+3 to open file details, memorize the frequency rate.

Step 2.

Press Crtl+P to open Preferences, in the left panel, you will find Plug-ins, and under it, Output. Click on it

In the right panel, click (highlight) the [out-disk.dll] plug-in, and click on configure

Step 3.

Configure your output folder. Then open format selection as the picture shows.
Format: as your wish, in this picture, it's MP3.
Arttibute: Now choose the option with the frequency rate in step 1. How also find bitrate next to it, as well as audio option: Mono/stereo. Higher bitrate and stereo will give better qualities.

Step 4.

After done everything as above, you simply may click play the file. Make sure you don't put it 'Repeat' option so it won't make duplicate. Also to convert in a large number, you just have to make a playlist, then your computer will play the rest.

PLEASE OWN THE GAME LEGALLY BEFORE RIP.

Thanks for the tutorial, but what about .SON files? Road Trip: The Arcade Edition (by Takara) has these type of files in the 'sound' folder.

Also, in_cube isn't developed anymore, it was replaced by vgmstream, and builds are compiled regularly here: http://hcs64.com/files/vgmstream/
