I am about to try this for the first time, and just wondering if my specs are good enough, what to expect from them, and if my controller set up is good enough.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit, AMD 645 quad-core @3.1ghz with 10gb of ram and a Nvidia 560-Ti 1gb DDR5.

I also want to use a PS3 joypad with Motioninjoy 360 controller emulator if it is even possible with Dolphin.

I am not going to be using this emu for every Wii game out there. Just Maybe the Sonic the Hedgehog games, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart and Crash Bandicoot.

Chances are I won't be playing any game that has to use the wii motion part of the controller, just simple D-pad and button games.

New Super Mario Bros: Should be playable
Mario Kart: You'll get slowdowns here and there... but generally, it should be playable
Crash Bandicoot: Don't know
Sonic the Hedgehog games: Afaik Sonic games are a little bit more demanding. Slowdowns will be expected.
