A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for an amazing product. It's a lightgun that does true line of sight aiming, works on newer tv's and monitors, and doesn't need an IR sensor bar of any kind. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sindenlightgun/the-sinden-lightgun

It's pretty slick. Hoping to spread the word so that development continues and this product can become more mainstream.

In my experience it's best to wait until the product succeeds or fails before making a purchase. Too many kickstarter projects have looked great on paper but failed to deliver on their promises in the real world. Often times they are riddled with technical issues that the product demo video doesn't show.

My thoughts exactly. It seems the most successful kickstarter projects I've seen tend to be... books. Technical stuff, any kind of electronic hardware and all that, tends to be iffy. Wait and see is fine with me; other people get to work out the bugs and take the risks Big Grin

Having said that, however, I've seen the Sinden Lightgun pop up in other places, and the demos look solid. The general concept behind it has been talked about quite a lot in the past. Looks like someone has finally done a decent implementation now. A good modern lightgun needs to happens sooner rather than never, so here's hoping.
