Trouble using third party remote from DealExtreme (SKU 23358)

Hi there,

I bought this third party wiimote + nunchuck from dealextreme:

On one of the reviews, a user claims it works fine with Dolphin. I can make it show up on Windows and even pair it up on Dolphin, at which point I feel the "rumble" effect, but it doesn't work in games almost all of the time. I've been trying several driver + dolphin version combos for hours now, and only a couple of times have I actually been able to press "A" on a game before the controller stops working again.

I'm using the internal Atheros bluetooth chipset from my motherboard, an Asus P8P67 Pro.

Any tips?

Try turning on "alternate Wiimote timings" in each game's properties. If you can get it to vibrate you're most of the way there.

I tried this too. Apparently it works better, but I don't know, there's something tricky about this controller. I got it to work for an extended period of time once in a game -- once I got past the initial "press A + B" I managed to play for a long time with no drops (until one happened, sadly).

Also, there's three "states" to each option in Dolphin: checked, unchecked and the default, which is a solid blue square. What is the last option supposed to be?

Bump. I tried an USB dongle (0a12:0001, "Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle"), pretty much the same thing happened.

Any hints?

Pros:
First order 3 of these, those works like tank. easily and assuredly , but then i order 2 more.

Cons:
Those 2.
- Everytime when i start wii i have to connect / resync them.
- Every time when i start game i have to connect / resync them.
- When game is loaded i have to resync those mote.
- When i reset / reboot wii i have to resync / reconnect these 2 remote.
- when those 2 remote work they dont go sleep / power off until i remove battery.

Other Thoughts:
3 remote of 5 works fine. 2 not work correctrly. Wii lost them continuously. Have to resync / reconnect before game start about 2 or 3 times, and when u reboot wii / change game same work again. I test on 3 different Wii consoles, and no changes.

Bottomline:
If u are lucky maybe u get good one

Hopefully not. I've handed it to a friend who actually owns a Wii to see how it works out for him. Worse comes to worse, I'll get one of those with MotionPlus or something...
