I see now that this is the real issue. In the wiimote configuration window you seemingly choose the one device you're going to use, so I thought I had to pick either the mouse or the keyboard. I've tried messing around with it since reading your post, but I'm not having any luck.
The settings you mentioned for some reason don't work for me. I thought this might be because the default settings use a device called Apple IR, which I didn't even know I had to begin with. So I used the drop down menu to select my mouse from the list of devices within the Configure Control window, then set the input as Axis Y- . However, after I close and reopen the window the drop down menu reverts back to using the Apple IR device and has changed the input to "`Input/0/iMac’s mouse #1`Axis Y-". I thought that maybe it would work anyway, but when I played the game again nothing happened when I moved the mouse at all with these settings or the defaults.
I've tried two different mice, the first one being my wireless magic mouse, the second one being an old logitech usb optical mouse. Neither have produced any results.
