Project64 uses DirectInput7.
Dolphin uses DirectInput8.
Your controller adapter appears not to support DI8 properly for some reason.
Get a new adapter/driver.

Hello, i up this topic ,

because i like my gamecub controller and i hope i can play it on dolphin.
now i m using Linux (Zorin OS) and dolphinv3 (installed with ubuntu packet) and that's works !!
but for my controller, he works but not tottaly.

Hi guys, sorry to bump such an old thread but I feel it useful to for the following reasons:
*The trio linker plus II was once quite a popular way to link a gamecube controller to a PC.
*Dolphin is the main Game Cube emu so it makes sense that people should be able to use them together.
*I have found lots of people asking this question on the internet with no answers.
*This is the first result on Google for 'trio linker plus dolphin', so people searching for a solution will likely look here first.
*I have it working.

Its quite a simple solution so maybe people have had other problems but this is what worked for me. I am using Windows 7 64-bit and Dolphin 3.0:

First when I plugged in my controller and installed the latest driver from here (Note: there is no 64-bit driver so I downloaded the 32-bit edition), testing in the control panel worked fine. When I came to configure the controller in Dolphin however the main stick and C-stick failed to calibrate properly whilst the triggers seemed to be inverted.

All I had to do to get it working was instead of left-clicking on the option for each button/axis and then pressing the button / moving the axis, I right-clicked and manually selected the correct option for each one which wasn't working correctly. After a little fiddling to make sure I had the right option in each field, everything seemed to work perfectly!

Please note this is working with DInput rather than SDL under the 'Device' options.

I know it's simple as hell, but maybe everyone just missed it...

Here is a screen shot of my configuration for everyone's reference (saves you fiddling around):

I just started messing with Dolphin and had recently picked up a Trio linker Plus II for use in my Mame/Emu cab and was struggling to get the GC controller configured. This post helped me immensely! The directions were spot on, and the diagram saved a lot of trial and error. Thanks!
