Transferring saves from one version of Dolphin to another?

I downloaded the most recent beta of Dolphin, but before that I had the latest official release and I have some saves from that I want to use with the newer beta. How do I do this?

I'm copying my savegames that way:

Copy in your old version the two folders "title" & "tmp" in User\Wii\ to exact the same folder in your new version. This worked for me just fine with Zelda TP. If you decide to copy the "shared2" folder, too your new version will maybe crash. I think that happens because the options you can choose vary between several version and the new version may doesnt understand the old config file....

I just tried this and although my save transfered fine to the new version, it wont save/overwrite now and i dont know what to do. Can someone please help me?

Im using dolphin 6780 (the newest one i believe) and trying to play nsmb. If i quick save, it works in the game, but once i exit dolphin and go back later to play the saves were never made, it just starts me off at where the save was when i transfered it over to the new version. Any help would be appreciated as this is making me furious.
