I apologize if this is the wrong place for this, not sure where to go. I recently bought the raphnet n64 controller to usb adapter and a v3.3 gameshark. So far I have been able to transfer all my 4 and 16kb EEPROM saves (with exception of Banjo Kazooie and Ep1 Racer, still trying to figure those out)

From what I understand this method will not work with games that use the 256kb sram or the 1 meg flash ram. The main game I'm trying to save before the battery dies is Mario Golf, it has save data from playing with my dad including hole in one and albatross replays. I have 6 other games I'd like to backup (Ocarina, RE2, Pokemon Stadium, Majora, Paper Mario and Smash) but ultimately they can be remade with playing them again. Mario Golf can't.

Through my research it seems the recommendation is to connect the parallel port on the gameshark to a win98 PC and then dump the whole games and somehow extract the saves from that. I've also read that this may not work with a 3.3 GS as some have had the parallel port disabled. Also I don't have a win98 PC with a parallel port.

Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to accomplish this without spending a bunch more money?

Thanks!

I used a 3.2 GS (the 3.3 just has newer cheat codes, I've heard the port is disabled, but I have my doubts) with a parallel port on a Windows XP machine, it worked, but it wasn't fun and I think the GS died in the process (they are very poor quality).

Thank you for letting me know an XP machine will still work, I have my fathers old pc in storage I can try which has a parallel port. Doing some more digging it seems "sparkly" 3.3 gameshark parallels do work, they later released one without a part inside that, without it, made the port useless but it was full matte black. Going out now to buy a parallel cord, hard to find these days.

I'll report back if this works, in the mean time if anyone has other suggestions I'd appreciate it, in case this does not work. And hopefully doesn't kill my gameshark :S
