How would I transfer a saved game from one computer to another?

I found a folder called "statesaves" and tried moving it over to the other computer but that didn't work.  One computer runs OS X. The other Linux.

Instead of copying the SaveStates folder, copy the GC folder (for GameCube games) and Wii folder (for Wii games). Though if you do want to transfer your savestates instead of just your regular save data, then you need to copy the SaveStates folder too.

Aren't savestates tied to a bunch of game and computer specific settings? Because it can cause issues if you try and load them on another computer.

Loading savestates on another computer should work about as well as loading them on the same computer.

Yep works fine. Just right click on the game name in the Wii Emulator click open wii save folder, and replace those files with the ones from the other computer.
