I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 and Dolphin 4.0-0. I have a couple Wii Plus remotes, one a -TR and the other one not. The -TR remote won't stay connected with 1+2, it says connected then immediately disconnects. If I pull off the battery and push the red button it will connect after a little bit, and continues to work. The non-TR remote doesn't have this problem.

Does anyone have a -TR remote working with just 1+2 in Linux? It's a pain to pull off the rubber boot and battery cover every time.

-TR wiimotes do not work with fast sync (1+2). You have to use the sync button every time. Fortunately (most) -TR remotes have a sync button extension in the battery cover, so it isn't a problem (mostly).

Hey thanks for the reply.

Yes it has a sync button in the battery cover but it's recessed and I can't push it with a finger. Maybe I'll extend it a bit so my finger works.

As an aside, do you know if anyone has looked at implementing the XWiimote interface now that Linux 3.11 mainline seems to support all the functions? This would be nice, then I could use the remote in XBMC along with Dolphin. Right now if I pair it in bluez it won't work with Dolphin. I guess this would also solve the sync button problem, as with XWiimote any button will connect the remote.
