Question about SSBB and Hybrid XFB:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl has "Immediately Present XFB" enabled in the game's .ini file to prevent lag, as stated in the article. However, I've noticed that setting Store XFB Copies to Texture Only globally in the GUI will still make the post-game screen in Classic mode show the magenta box instead of the character picture.
Is the global setting somehow overwriting the per-game setting? This shouldn't really happen as per-game settings are there precisely to overwrite global settings.
If that is not the reason, then there may be a bug somewhere. From the article, I understood that with Copies to Texture Only the emulated Wii system memory is given a dummy magenta value. With Immediately Present XFB, the image is transferred directly from the GPU, bypassing system memory so I don't see how the magenta image would somehow appear on screen
