Hi. This emulator just doesn't work for me and I don't know why. These are my specs. Not trying to be glib, I feel utterly exhausted and defeated.

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core Processor.

16 gigs of RAM

I genuinely do not know what to do, I have experimented with every slider position, back end, shader, Alias, whatever combo you name, I've tried it. Tried turning up the game speed, overclocking, everything. The logos load fine, menus go off without a hitch but, aside from Thousand Year Door, none of my games will run at any consistent rate.

Skies of Arcadia drops to 10 fps when not in combat.

Metroid Prime is a rollercoaster. One minute, it's 60, the next minute it is at a near stand still, dipping into the SINGLE digits then back up again.

Mario Kart Double Dash drops to just above 10 fps as soon as you get to the track cutscene and doesn't stop until you get back to the menus.

Wind Wakerdrops to ten frames once I get in game as well.

My system is barely a year old and it can run modern games at 100+ fps but for some reason, Dolphin is just too much and I don't know why. I play every game at the lowest setting and it's great... until I actually need to do stuff...

Please, if anyone can recommend SOMETHING to help, a program, a setting in the NVIDIA control panel, a setting config for just Skies of Arcadia and Wind Waker (and no, the wiki ones don't work for me), I would be eternally grateful!

Sounds like your system maybe idling, make sure your computer/dolphin is set to run in high performance mode.

Thanks for the advice. How do I switch my PC to high performance mode exactly? Or Dolphin for that matter.

P.S scratch that. It was a simple Google. Unless you were referring to something other than changing the power plan in the control panel. Still not sure what you mean dolphin side though.

Don't forget to set the NVIDIA Control panel as well. NVIDIA Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings tab > make a profile for Dolphin if it doesn't already have on > set "Power manage mode" to "Prefer maximum performance"

So I have done both of these and I have seen a marginally more stable experience. Mario Kart now runs between 18-25 fps and only occasionally dips.

The real kicker is still Skies if Arcadia that REFUSES to budge from its original FPS. None of the backends or shaders help. All the enhancements are set to the minimum. Is there anything in the Config I can change? I don't touch that too much. Dual core is open, CPU overclock is at 100%, Memory override is off.

Actually, forcing 16:9 also really helped Mario Kart. So I don't know if that means anything but wanted to out it out there.

Again, thank you to the both of you for your advice and time.
