You need a sensor bar for pointing at the screen, but it doesn't need to be a DolphinBar specifically. Most sensor bars only contain the IR LEDs that are necessary for pointing, but DolphinBars contains both that and a way to connect Wii Remotes over Bluetooth. If you don't need the Bluetooth functionality, I suggest just getting a regular sensor bar instead of a DolphinBar. DolphinBars have had problems with the IR LEDs burning out after being used too much. Just make sure that you get one that's powered by batteries or USB, unless you're fine with it being connected to your Wii while you're using it.
