Those features sound pretty cool! Will we be able to choose what we want? (Models but no sfx, for example, or using textures from other packs while keeping all the other features )


Also will this work with the Wii version too? It would be a shame for all these awesome changes to only work with the gc version.

Out of curisity, how hard would it be for a noob like me to make them work for the PAL version?

This was not due to being overambitious tho, it was just due to nintendo being nintendo and taking down footage of their game.
However, like you can read, they still work on it, just lower priority to not get too much of nintendo's attention, which could really kill the mod.

I hope tomoya and co will finish that project, i'll always wait for it.

I hope they finish eventually.

What you could do is play through your tv and enable true motion/ motion jitter/ etc. It's basically frame interpolation which makes it 60 fps or more due to the added frames.. :3

Yes, that's very likely since this is the first texture pack being restricted by nintendo.

But I wouldnt call that overambitious, for me overambitious means that you think you can do something you are not able to do. But they clearly are able to do it, shown by this tweet: https://twitter.com/Shadsterwolf/status/714230203933794304

This is just 10 minutes old (confirms for me they will still work on the project and can now replace models and areas in the game Tongue)

Last time i checked you had to donate in order to get the lastest build, so maybe is more of a lucrative thing? Every single company pursues projects that earns money using their games.

I mean, Victor Rosa's HD pack is fine, so it's not obviously because Nintendo

Sooooo I tried the texture pack. Here are my firsts thoughts about it :

Note that my goal isn't to criticize it, but to give a real feedback.

First about the installation process :
- Import Ishiiruka config files is a very bad strategy imo. My XAudio2 backend was broken this way for me. Also, config files that are included on the pack have some strange options, like Phong Lightning enabled. From a clean Ishiiruka install, you only need to enable cheat codes, force 16:9, enable load custom textures and material maps.
- If you don't do OPTIONAL shaders steps, the gamesettings ini file is missing and so the 16:9 and no bloom codes.

Then about gameplay :
- The gamesettings ini file included kills performance. To fix it, open it, and erase everything on it except codes and patches.
- The shaders are WAY too HEAVY for the GPU, especially the Gritty one. I mean, I have a 770 GTX, which is a high-end GPU not that old, and I can't play fullspeed with shaders enabled, even with IR 2x (for 720p).
Shaders off : 20% GPU usage. Shaders on : 100% GPU usage.
That's why I made my own shader that don't overload my GPU, with the default IshiirukaFX shader.

Here I'm getting constantly full speed 1080p, only stutters 1s when loading textures in a new scenario. (gritty one) The only thing I don't like it, was the plastic aspect of the horse. So I lowered phong lightning a little bit.

You have a GTX 760 and it's smooth.
I have a GTX 770 and it's laggy as hell.
Something's definitely not right. I'm confused.
I have 2 Go of VRAM instead of 4, but that's not the bottleneck.
