So, I have a half-decent computer for games. When I try running dolphin, however, I get some pretty wild extremes. The speed hits some pretty unpleasant highs and lows. Here are two examples.

New Super Mario Bros Wii:
Speed on menu screen hovers around 130%
Speed on the world map sits between 60% and 70%
The game itself has, mercifully, sat around 110%

Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC):
The title screen blasts by at 530% or so.
The menus go between 140 and 210%.
The game itself runs at a painful 50%, however.

Any help would be appreciated.
Operating System: Windows 7
Processor/CPU: Intel Core i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz
Video Card/GPU: GeForce GT 520M
Memory/RAM: 4Gb
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 3.0-407

Usually, low speeds (e.g. anything less than full-speed) is more likely to be hardware related. Though, if your settings are somehow holding you back, we won't know about it until you post all of them here.

The high speeds look to be menus and title screens, the stuff that isn't too demanding. In Dolphin, hit the Config button and look for the Frame Limit Option. Make sure it's set to Auto, or 60 if you know none of your games has 30 FPS as their full-speed (some do, like Skyward Sword). Also, check the box for Limit by FPS.

Why would you do that? VPS and limited and audio throttling are both far more accurate than fps limiting.

Why would I do that... because those were my old settings. :p I was posting from my laptop, which I haven't seriously used for Dolphin in a while. My bad, my more up-to-date desktop has it set to Audio. The revision on my laptop still has audio throttling in the DSP section.

I haven't messed with that part of my Dolphin settings in a while, but I haven't noticed any difference when I set my desktop settings to my laptop settings. Either way, I don't get the sort of extreme highs Sharpevil seems to be experiencing.
