this causes the same problem as with D3D. I already played the game on PJ64 but I thought it would
be nice to play it on Dolphin, too.

The other two games don't run properly on OpenGL. They are both terribly slow, just at 20 FPS and less.
The audio stutters so much it's unbearable. I'm going to update my Intel driver and then I could check
it again but I doubt that this will fix that. I always had problems with OpenGL on any game.

Maybe my PC isn't strong enough to render it properly? But why am I able then to play it on PJ64?
It runs perfectly on PJ64 besides some graphical bugs. I thought that these bugs might have been "fixed" in
the Wii Ware version. The wad I have is proper, I don't know what could be possibly wrong with it.

Its an emulator within an emualtor. Inside your emulated wii system that runs on a PowerPC processor you are emulating an n64 which uses an Implementation of MIPS (correct me if im wrong anyone) which both of those environments are running on your PC which uses x86.
Your committing Emu-ception

Paper Mario has graphical issues whiling going up star summit for some reason on all n64 emus/plugins. AFAIK, Dolphin doesn't have this issue. But no matter how many times I try to aquire the .wad by legal means, Dolphin always says it's corrupt. JMC45, if you could share with us on how you got it to work, it would be great.

Last time I tried it booted fine, but it was ages ago. I will extract the WAD from my Wii to test with current revisions...

EDIT: yes, tested in 4.0.2 and in 4.0-595 and Paper Mario 64 indeed works. However, the problem is creating the save file: with some games (right now I remember of Super Smash Bros Brawl and now Paper Mario 64), Dolphin seems to freeze while the game is creating the save file, which isn't the case.

Something with Dolphin and these games seems to make the save file creation much more slower than on a real Wii. To boot Paper Mario 64, first delete your save folder (for the USA version of Paper Mario it's the folder User\Wii\title\00010001\4e414545\data) and then boot the game. It'll show the "You need a classic controller" message and then freeze with FPS 0 and VPS 0 but it didn't freeze, don't stop the emulation or close Dolphin, just wait around 5 minutes (the save file is being created) and after that time the game will continue just fine. If you stop the emulation or close Dolphin in the meantime, then on the next boot you'll get the "Save data is corrupt message"...

So, to get Paper Mario 64 working, delete its save folder (if it already exist), boot the WAD, after the "You need a classic controller" message Dolphin will freeze, don't do anything, after around 5 minutes the game will continue just fine... The same occur with Super Smash Bros Brawl for me, Dolphin freezes for around 5-10 minutes during save file creation but after that everything works well

Jhonn: That never happens to me? Maybe it's because I have a solidstate drive for Dolphin or something, but it just "works" no problem.

Are you sure this happens on every computer configuration?

It tends to happen on HDDs only, on issue 6829 skid said that the process is slower on a real Wii too, but it isn't noticeable because Wii uses flash memory, so, you won't experience these slowdowns if running Dolphin from a SSD...

BTW it's just when creating the save file, after it's created the game boots in no time...

I had to wait five minutes but miraculously, it worked! However it doesn't run smoothly after all.
It's constantly at 85 % and it looks very pixelated. I like it better on PJ64 with the Super2XSal textures.
Maybe it looks better on a stronger PC than mine but in general I guess one should play this game on a dedicated
N64 emulator.

Meh, this slow process (for HDD users) occurs only when creating the save data, so, I still prefer waiting around 5 minutes in the first time than getting the required apps to set up a RAM disk only for that...

I got paper mario 64 to run, but the game freezes after every 15-20 minutes, however the emulator continues to run. Does Paper Mario require LLE?
