Amazing work. It's too bad the N64 emulation scene is still stuck in the old plugin model, stubbornly refusing to reap all the benefits of work like this. There are several N64 emulators and they all suck in their own ways, and dozens of plugins which also suck. Unfortunately, at this point I doubt we'll ever see an N64 emulation project with this amount of polish and support.

The Wii's Virtual Console on Dolphin comes to the rescue! At least for the few N64 games that were re-released...
I always hated plugins. It is a shame emulators such as Project64 still don't come bundled with plugins which are the superior choice such as GlideN64. Licensing issues, yeah I know. That's one of the big issues with plugins, different licences and different authors. The article wasn't meant to slam plugins. They were just a part of how things shaped out. I personally don't see them as viable moving forward, but, hey, I'm wrong at least most of the time.
