Hello,

I just want to know what classifies as the modern/dolphin pc. i have pc's/laptop i would call modern and even gaming but dolphin can't run properly

system a) 4850 powercolour with pcs cooling 1gb
core 2 quad 2.33
capable of running luigi's mansion and few others but not zeldas and no way can it handle lle

system b [laptop] gaming
i7 2nd gen 2.4-3.5 quadcore [excellent cooling fans, flat surface, plenty of airflow, IC diamond thermal compound CPU + GPU]
gtx580m msi overclockable
can generally run games but lle is pushing it

i have tried default 9/11/gl
i have tried performance guide.
i have tried finely tuning.

obviously these 'modern/gaming' system are unableto run it so what counts as a decent system? do i just need to get an overclocked system because a 2 grand+ system cant seem to handle it, yet it can run gta/crysis and anything else you want to throw at it. even the pretty lame ghost recon future soldier has decent fps

thanks,

This forum is littered with i5-2500k and i5-3570k threads, you should read some of those. This is all common knowledge around here. You can almost read any thread in the hardware section and either of those processors will be mentioned. Still, the processor you'll need depends on the game you're trying to play.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

you mentioned the 3570. the i7 i mentioned isnt far off. it can use 2 cores almost to 3.5 similarly the i5 almost reaches 3.8 in dual core. it is very similar, so why can't i play zelda on gc with lle or mario galaxy lle? it stutturs. i mean, in definition dolphin doesn't require a high end pc, it requires extreme end pcs or workstations. it's rediculous. can't anything be done to have lle [as to prevent crashes] or hle without crashes or something. as soon as lle is turned on it suffers and without it, it suffers [crash].

That's because Dolphin is much more demanding than PC games.
You do not compare these to each other. They're different things.

The performance guide will not help you much as you already have decent discrete GPU's.

What is its exact model?

Twilight Princess? Where exactly, Hyrule Field?
Anyhow, what performance do you get with these games?

No it does not... HLE works great for many games, only a handful REALLY require LLE.
The 2500K/3570K are mainstream processors, which aren't very expensive at all.

the i7 i think is 2760qm [the cpu can be upgraded. i know atleast 2 cpus the mobo can handle but the top model costs under $1000 i will atleast wait till sandy bridge is old before i take that upgrade]

windwaker boss battles lle is slow. generally it's ok under lle [could be better]. hle is the best but hangs.

i know it's unfair to compare pc games and emulation but i just meant it isn't a weaklingSmile
