I'm getting a 4670K in about 10 days. I've arranged to borrow a copy ot tLofZ tWW tomorrow (so I can do a before benchmark as well), and will post here when I have the new CPU with stock clock results, and then with overclock results.

My latest tests are about 30 FPS higher than these screenies thanks to Garteal Smile

It is likely going to be a few weeks before I circle back to playing Dolphin due to my thesis so I figured I would go ahead and post these because I had them laying around.

Edit:
I decided I had to post these results Smile

So here are the 64-bit results. It should be noted that the only things changed were the bitness of the OS and the bitness of Dolphin. I had the same programs and drivers installed as I have a drive dedicated to the installs and drivers I use with fresh installs.

Here are the results (I got about 30 more FPS with the 64-bit):

I got my 4770k today, but I won't get my cooler in for another week or two, so you won't get any overclocking results from me until then, but I'll probably test it at stock tomorrow.

i5 2320 stock 3 GHz, turbos to 3.1 GHz when Dolphin is running.
Win 7 Pro 64 bit
HD 6950 2GB (factory OC)
8 GB Corsair DDR3 @1333 MHz effective frequency

The speeds varied significantly over time, so I took the screenshots 1-3 (approx) seconds after loading each save.

For quick reference here are my ivy bridge results at the same clock speed:
73 fps
59 fps
89 fps

Very impressive if true. A 20% increase in IPC.

If those speeds are indeed correct and the screenshots back them up, then those are some pretty impressive gains. Just glancing over the results and comparing them to yours moosehunter, @ 3.7GHz, you're consistently performing around the level of Sandy and Ivy Bridge chips OCed around 4.4GHz~4.5GHz. When you get the chance, do get those screenshots up.

I am cautiously skeptical, of course. I didn't think Haswell would improve Dolphin performance that dramatically, but I'll go with whatever any valid results says (it's not as if it's a bad thing if performance goes up, anyway).

EDIT: Ninja'd. Btw NV, I was specifically looking at your results (due to yours having the exact same clock) when I calculated the percentages myself. Can't wait to see what others like AON3 get.

Off-Topic: haddockd, I see you have a few Golden Sun backgrounds. You a fan of those games? Smile

Wow, I was reading the benchmark result spreadsheet wrong. I saw CPUs @ 4.5 GHz getting the same results as me, and for some reason I read it as 3.5. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed until I realized this. I'm away from my computer now, but I'll get screenshots tomorrow morning.

I realised the tests I did were without PAL60 turned on, so the numbers aren't necessarily what we want. Does this option matter for a GC game, or are my current tests adequate?
