There is a difference between throttling and it happening to the point where you can feel it severely affecting whatever you're doing to keep temperatures in check. In my experience dolphin does not cause the latter to it.
The latest versions of Dolphin have broken many games and left them unusable

Well, terms as `much cooler` means nothing without technical data.
Every phone throttles, to save temp or to save battery. And since its still a 14nm chip, I guess it wont be any different from most 14nm chips. 02-23-2018, 11:16 AM

Has higher compatibility? 02-23-2018, 02:25 PM

Please try the latest Dev versions first rather than some random cargo cult version because someone once told you it "felt better". If you have regressions please try to bisect which version introduced the issue, then the devs may actually have a chance of fixing things! Also bear in mind you may have to clear the app data and dolphin-emu directory (defaults to /sdcard/dolphin-emu) when changing versions - some things that introduce new configs or change the meaning of values could cause weird stuff to happen otherwise. 05-01-2018, 12:42 AM
To help you out the, the last working version regarding the problem with the Resident Evil 1 remake was 5.0-5833. The next available build (5.0-5874 Hybrid xfb #5498) led to the error:
Code: GFX FIFO: Unknown Opcode (0xfe @ 0x15fd7fb01, preprocess=false). Code: Illegal command fe I tried this with the PAL version (GBIP08) on Android and macOS with the same result. 05-03-2018, 05:15 PM
Okay, that's strange. I still experience the Resident Evil 1 crash with current builds. Is there any special non-default setting required?

I tried the current build 5.0-8892 on macOS and Android (Nvidia Shield TV). Am I the only one still having the mentioned error when trying to start the PAL version of Resident Evil?

5.0-3617 is playable to me as well. 5.0-13178 crashes a few seconds into the opening level. This happens no matter what settings I use.
