Can someone apply fifo patch to the last ICC build?
The Last Story, JPN

Does anyone have an advice on settings and Dolphin version on an AMD rig? I got a Athlon II X3 450, 4Gb DDR3 RAM and a Radeon HD 5770.
I am able to play Xenoblade flawless without any stuttering, in The Last Story however, framrate drops slightly below 20 during the fights in the tutorial.

After more testing, having the texture to ram (The fix for the black clothes texture) causes the frame rate to differ massively between 15 at the very busy areas to 25-30 in most others.
Playing in DX11, with texture copy not set to ram, cuases the ENTIRE game, busy moments and fights, to be a perfectly smooth 30fps. It also fixes the sound going out of sync during cutscenes. Unless you have a monster computer, I cannot see the game being deemed as "fully playable" with textures set to ram. Once the clothing issue is fixed however Last Story PAL will be 110% perfect. I agree, although my Computer is not that powerful, I managed to play it quite smoothely with EmuCR-Dolphin-3.0-415-x64 and copy to textures. Copy to RAM is just too slow. Hope there will be a patch for the clothing issue or a Dolphin build wich makes us able to play the game without glitches. I'm playing the PAL Version btw, don't know if it makes any difference to NTSC-J version.

Would using a new dolphin build mean abandoning a save? There is also a folder for the SaveStates in the Dolphin folder which you could copy, but SaveStates tend to be very unstable for me, they crash often.

Bought the game at the local game store.
My config: i5-2500k@ 4,4Ghz 4Gb DDR3 GTX 260 I'm using "Dolphin-3.0-420-gbea635d_L102_x64_ICC" with this config: 1. Jitil 2. DX11 3. x3 native res 4. x16 anisotropic filtering 5. all other by defoult. To run tge game i changing EFB Copies to RAM, then when game is started, i switching it to texture. The game seems run pretty smooth. I have only one fps drop(near 26) on the first boss "Cocoon". And one freez on the second, "The Forest Beast".
that are some hardware requirements... with efb to ram

Try my set up (Posted early, page 15 I believe, no crashes), use DX9 and do the texture switch as told. I'm now playing at a solid 30fps with clothe textures for the main character and whomever was on screen at the time of the switch. Switching clothes / dye will revert the clothes back to being broken, but for now its pretty much the best way to make the game playable and look pretty good. Just did a test. 20fps before switch, 30fps afterwards. So a massive increase, while retaining cloth textures. Perfection. |
