Has anyone tried this game with a Q9550 or QX9650 @4-4.2ghz? That's the fastest CPU my mobo can accept, I'm just wondering if that'll make the game playable. Thanks.

Thanks. I tried with e6600@4 ghz and it's barely playbale ( minimum I saw was 18 fps and its really slow ) Problem is that in order to make the game work, you have to enable options which decrease speed severely. First, you have to have efb copy / ram enabled. This slows the game a lot. Without it,game usually crashed when try to load a save. Even if you manage to get ingame, you will only see half of your characters lol. Game is missing armor textures I guess Second option you need to enable is JITIL instead of JIT.This also slows it down a bit Without it,game crashed within 10-15 minutes of gameplay. Or you can leave JIT but switch to LLE audio,it will also solve crashing but slows it down even more then JITIL+HLE Bottom line,I tried these settings with Xenoblade and from constant 25 fps it also went to 18-20 fps and was barely playable So try it with xenoblade if you have it to see if your pc can handle these settings If you can run xenoblade at 25 fps with jitil+efb copy to ram you will not have problems running last story 09-27-2011, 09:14 AM
Wow, that's an impressive oc on the e6600. I can play Xenoblade, but not with those settings. I guess even a QX9650 is cutting it close, but I'm hoping that the QX9650 with more cache and possibly a higher oc will bring it up to 20-25fps.

Its e6600 pentium dual core default 3 ghz not old core 2 duo which was 2,4 ghz Since dolphin is dual core I doubt there would be any difference between qx9650 and E8xxx cpu. The one which overclocks higher would win 09-28-2011, 10:31 AM
I didn't know they made a Pentium DC e6600, the 45nm CPUs can definitely clock better than the 65nm CPUs. But I don't want to downgrade from quad core to dual core. And E8500 can easily hit 4.5ghz given proper cooling and enough voltage.
Settings and versions don't matter too much since the game runs slow no matter what... unless maybe you have a 2500k at over 4ghz, but my 920 at 4ghz was still getting bad fps in the game's one and only city so who knows... Anyway for somewhat playable results use JITIL and EFB Copies to RAM

I ordered the Collector's Edition from abroad but would rather play it on my PC if at all possible. That worked out really well for Xenoblade and I am hoping that this will be the case for this game too, but sounds like it doesn't run well at present.
