Quote:until the Windows version is 100% accurate you shouldn't even be attempting to port the emulator to objectively inferior operating systems like Android or Linux.

That's just stupid. By a lot of metrics, a Linux-based OS should be objectively superior to a Windows one, but lots of people are used to how Windows does things, so get upset if anything's done differently. Your personal preferences don't equate to absolute truth. Linux tends to focus on what existing Linux users want, so it's really, really good at that, and unless Microsoft starts doing crazy things just to appease those people, Windows will stay at a disadvantage there forever.

As well as this, several of Dolphin's core developers use Linux nearly exclusively, so by dropping support for it, we'd lose a lot of skilled programmers. Developing new stuff like a port to Android doesn't take away from the effort put into its main areas, as everything's created by volunteers in their own time, and if they want to work on something, that's the thing they're going to do. Banning them from working on the bit of Dolphin they want to doesn't magically persuade them to work on a different part of Dolphin.

It was a pretty obvious trollbait, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just have a laugh and move on.

This requirement doesn’t even make sense because tons of nvidia shield TV exclusive game ports like RE5, MGR and whatnot don’t install on nexus player either, yet those are readily available.

If the article is about the current state of Dolphin on Android in 2018,
If the article is about the current state of Dolphin on Android in 2018,

They could have tested on devices of 2018, at least with SD845 like Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S or Xiaomi Black Shark that their computational performance calculates 287 thousand points in AnTuTu.

We still have the most powerful of all currently Asus ROG Phone: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ROG-Phone/ That your performance calculates more than 304 thousand points in AnTuTu surpassing all SD845 to date .

As yet in 2018 until the end of the year we will have the SD855 and a few months later the SD865 (it seems that it repeated the double launch as in the days of SD820 and SD821) According to a recent statement from ARM this week: https: // http://www.arm.com/company/news/2018/08/accelerating-mobile-and-laptop-performance
It promises already in its next chip lead to outperform the Intel competitors in the category, means that next year we will have ARM chips capable of computing power enough to run Dolphin and other emulators in all their glory. The future of ARMs is very promising in the short term.

The main issue right now is shitty GPU drivers. It doesn't matter how powerful the CPU of future SoCs get, if they don't improve their GPU drivers, Dolphin will still perform bad...

Do you have some contacts in Qualcomm/Samsung/etc. (other guys that develop drivers)? How do you report the issues. Are they even aware of the issues you encounter?

I noticed recently that there's a build of Dolphin on F-Droid. Will this be updated with the Google Play build?

We have nothing to do with the F-Droid builds.
