the bootmii "traps" in dolphin

hey,why dosent dolphin can run bootmii,do u guys don't like wii hacking in dolphin? idk but u made so thatdolphin ddosent run the bootmii.elf so can I have an answer of why?

It's not that we intentionally made it not work. The problem is that the BootMii installer requires emulation accuracy in very specific ways that are useless for regular software and hard to implement. Don't expect it to run any time soon.

We're not against Wii hacking at all. In fact, it's very simple in Dolphin. You can run any DOL or ELF file using the Open dialog in the File menu, and editing the NAND memory is very simple since it's a regular folder on your computer.

AFAIK I remember reading somewhere that the team behind BootMii intentionally put some stuff in their code to intentionally make it not work with Dolphin, but not because they don't like Dolphin, just to make debugging the code harder, or something like that...

Also, why you want to run BootMii in Dolphin? It would be almost useless...

It'd be cool. I think flacs got the Homebrew Channel running with a few CPU fixes.

Hackmii already released a open source HB a couple days ago so maybe dev can look into the code and see and remove that shady tailor-made trap put into the HB.

So finally we can... eh Homebrew Channel!

The HBC traps are already removed in the open source release. The open source version of HBC should work as soon as this PR gets merged: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/4468

BootMii and the HackMii installer are still impossible to run.

I have it on my Dolphin.All I did was import my backup from my Wii that has bootmii and homebrew channel and all other stuff on it.Beware that some homebrew doesnt work on dolphin because of the coders intent to block dolphin.Example is Chrismas Countdown.It looks awsome to have a running Wii system menu and its personal preference to have it.If the option is there to have a system menu then why are so many people bashing others about wanting to use it.Makes no sense to me people. Dodgy

This is a place for help not dictate what you should be doing.If you need help I dont mind at all sharing what I had to figure out myself.
