Texture packs lag/stutter

Hi everyone. So i'm trying to use Hypatia's texture pack for Wind Waker and Tomoya's Twilight Princess pack. I'm using DX11 at 3x IR. All the other settings are default. I can't for the life of me figure out why my system is having such a hard time with these texture packs. With no packs loaded I can run each game at 6x IR with NO slowdowns at all. Is it the texture packs themselves? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! PC specs in signature. Thanks!

Stuttering comes from large textures, especially if they are in PNG/JPG format. And I know some of Hypatia's are (or at least used to be) in JPG format for some reason. DDS textures are faster but at slightly lesser quality. You can try converting the textures to DDS and/or rescaling them to a smaller size. There are several programs that can convert to DDS, the script in my sig can also do it +rescale them but it requires a bit of setup.

Bighead thank you man! I got everything setup and converted Tomoya's pack to DDS. I forgot to change my IR back to 3x from 6x, but when I booted up everything was butter smooth! I'm converting Hypatia's now. I'm thinking i'll get better performance on that one too! Thanks again man!
