I'm at a complete loss what is going on..

I've a reasonable rig: i7 920 (DO) @4.0GHz, GTX 670 Windforce 3x, 8Gb DDR3, @1920x1200 but everything I've tried (Gamecube & Wii) is lagging & stuttering terribly, screen tear is also dreadful even with the option enabled,
I've tried different builds & pretty much every combination of settings from the lowest to the highest.. and am seeing no improvement, I appreciate it's most probably something I'm doing wrong but I've absolutely no idea what.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Games I've tried so far: Chibi Robo, Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, LOZ Wind Waker, Paper Mario TTYD, Kirby's Epic Yarn, LOZ Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles.

I've tried pretty much every combination of settings.

Skyward Sword is sort of demanding. The others should go more or less (your CPU isn´t that good, but you can manage to get somewhere with it on Dolphin).
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

Someone suggested using an older build.. & I've just tried all the same games with 3.5-0-dirty 64bit I haven't yet tweaked any of the settings but everything now runs at what looks to be full speed.

Is it just that my rig isn't up to snuff for the newer builds or is something else going on? (hope it's the latter as I can't afford Rig upgrades anytime soon)

The older builds are less taxing (and less accurate). It's true that your rig isn't up to snuff for certain games like LoZ: SS. LoZ: WW should do just fine on that hardware though. I'd use that as a testcase. Then post your settings screens, temps, and a screenshot showing framerate.

edit: Xenoblade is probably a no-go on that hardware as well.
