For emulation performance, only single core CPU performance matters. As the X1 "only" have A57 cores instead of the Denver within the K1, I guess it may also be slower. The X1 is build for multi-core, the K1-Denver is a dual core CPU which tries to get single threaded faster...
If you want to buy a faster one than the K1, you maybe have to wait for the Tegra Parker SOC...
