Hi all.

I've been trying to record a TAS of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 but the .dtm file desyncs my inputs after a disc swap. There's a few more multi-disc games that I wish to record using TAS, and my question is whether this is supposed to work properly or not. I've tried a few things so far but it desyncs every time. Anything I should look for?

Using one of the newest dev versions (14344).

It's supposed to work, but I don't think it has been tested in a good while.

Thanks Jos, that's most of what I need to know. Any version you recommend? I'll test it with another game later this month. I have about four multi-disc games to do

Doesn't Dolphin have an auto disc swap feature? I assumed that it would be deterministic, meaning it would work for TAS and even netplay.

It does. But the inputs desync after that. Atleast on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 it does.

It's an easy game to test it on, too, because the disc swap can be throttled without any game progression. I'll run a test on PGA Tour 2005 this week as that one works the same... any other multi-discs I know of require me to complete half of the game first.

Is there any way to create a single disc out of a multi-disc game that'll be bootable through Dolphin and bypass the disc swap desync?

Somebody on my team apparently did not have the same issue when doing a TAS on Resident Evil Code Veronica. He also used one of the newer dev builds. I'll just have to report back after trying some more multi-disc games.

I've given it another shot and the disc swap doesn't necessarily cause a desync. I think it's the fact that Tiger 2004 tends to disc swap A LOT which eventually caused the file to mess up. Happy to report that it's still working as intended.

Hmm, i don't know exactly how TAS / input recording works. My guess is that disc swapping may not work properly with save states, if you use those. Or if you save and resume sessions somehow, that you should avoid doing at a point where a disc swap is not fully completed.
