I've been getting various problems and errors while running Tales of Symphonia on Dolphin R3463. In which it stated emulation was "perfect".

There are various graphical errors such as there being like a "hole" corner of the screen where the graphics around there a circular. Also there seems to be problems when there are double layers of graphics for example a character may have an extra outline around him but instead of going around him it overlaps onto his body.

Also there are sound errors such as there suddenly being strange noises produced at certain areas or the music becoming choppy.

Others include text errors. Certain names appear differently at different times. For example Kratos may appear as Krrtos or Kr tos. This also occurs in skits and other areas where the actual letters are substituted by something else.

Performance is also uneven, in battles the game is laggy but while exploring the game moves extra fast.

Can someone offer me some help? Maybe tweaking the settings or using an older version of Dolphin?

As an extra note I tried using the latest revision R3486 and Tales of Symphonia couldn't even start.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I'm new here and need help. Thanks in advance.

I might aswell say that the music is actually "Missing Instruments."

This game in fact needs many configurations in the middle of it to get through it and some that don't even work. Makes me wonder why it's listed as Perfect.

Activating and Deactivating stuff in the middle of the game at random points and some parts that you can't even get past is hardly perfect.

Ive actually finished that game in dolphin, i can tell you that emulation is almost perfect. Sometimes sound got wrong. And theres a friggin bug that wont allow you to grab boxes. But u can still play it to full. Try using a later SVN build, i used SVN 3286.if u have a little graphic card, like me, you can also try setting hardware rendering to minimum, specially the anti allaising filter gap. Other thing u can do is to set graphic configuration of your computer to minimum as well, hope i helped you

PS: sry about my english

lol, that actually was a pain in the ass. I had to get some multi save from gamefaqs.com and then i continued right after the shadow temple. I lost all my progress, that really sucked but i was so interested in the story that i finally accepted it.

Yeah I thought maybe thats what you did, if you had to do something like that the game should not be listed as Perfect.

Quote:How did you get past the Shadow temple if you couldn't grab boxes?

I got the ``Sticky Box Bug´´(that's how I call it) in Tethe'alla Renegade Base,at first I thought it was part of the puzzle but after checking about a dozen of walkthrus I found it wasn't,I got past it but I don't even know how,it was pure luck I guess,I just stated to move boxes until I got out.

If you check most of the ToS related threads you may find many of my post saying something like``That game is far from Perfect´´.I been saying it since SVN 3089 but seem like it has been ignored.

That bug is called ``Sopa de Letras´´,it can be fixed by activating the ``Use Safe Texture Cache´´ in Gfx Avanced options(it also fix other minor graphic issues).
