Yes, the files will work for both GC and Wii games. Make sure you dump the roms correctly else you will get an error complaining about an incorrect hash and some games may hang, crash or output garbage audio.

Hmm, I watched videos on how to obtain this homebrew channel (assuming that is how I get the files) and you void the warranty on your Wii. Isn't there a download somewhere that has the necessary files? 02-11-2011, 03:40 AM
Softmods can be reversed anyways, the only way the warranty will be voided is if you mess up brick the system. However in most cases people have gotten their Wii's repaired/replaced for free under the warranty due to the fact that with a full brick it is difficult to determine that softmodding was the cause. Otherwise Nintendo may just require that you pay a small fee to fix/replace the Wii if something goes wrong. Dumping the dsp roms will not void your warranty if that's what your asking, it's nearly impossible dumping the roms will mess anything up. There's no way to get the files short of dumping them yourself, downloading them is illegal and will not be supported here.

If Nintendo detects a Soft-/Hardmod you can pay 200 US Dollar (I'm not lying) 02-11-2011, 05:03 AM

I've seen reports of people paying between $50 - $75, in most cases Nintendo will just reflash with the latest firmware since they have the tools to do this. |
