Sad
Hello everyone. I'm trying to use a Tales of Symphonia save I ripped off with MCRecover from a Corrupted Memory Card. The .gci file can be imported well onto a Memory Card in Dolphin. But, when the game is executed it's act like the memory doesn't has a save. I'm using the Spanish version of Tales of Symphonia.

In other words, I used the raw file created by Dolphin and I created a new save file. Then I close the game and open the GC Memory Card Manager, open the memory card file and import the .cgi. The file in the manager looks correct, but in Tales of Symphonia there is no save data.

I have already tried many things, such as "Fix Checksums" and try other versions of Dolphin, I have also tried other gci files from GameFAQs but nothing.

I speak Spanish and my English is not very good, so I apologize for that.
I will put my gci file in case you want to see it.

Thanks everyone, Goodbye! Smile

I would create a new savegame in the actual game, and then rename your file to the newly created one.

Under "My Documents" on your computer, in windows explorer, there's a folder "Dolphin Emulator". The gci saves should be in the subfolder "GC", then "EUR", then "Card A". Copy the filename of the existing file, then delete the file, rename your savegame to that saved name and copy it into that folder.

Edit: Sorry, i thought the filename was important. Dolphin doesn't care about the filename, so you only need to copy your file, which i guess the import tool should do properly. If you want to do it manually, copy the file to the folder under "My Documents" -> "Dolphin Emulator" -> "GC" -> "EUR" -> "Card A".

Important: You might want to make a backup of the whole "Dolphin Emulator" folder, before you do anything, or else you might lose some other savegames.

Ok, how good are you with a hexeditor? I was able to load your savegame on my german version of the game, but i needed to modify it a bit. Open the file in a hexeditor and add "000" in the 1st line, so it looks like this:
GQSPAFÿ.TOS_000

Well, actually, do not add "000", you need to overwrite the existing characters and the rest of the data needs to stay exactly in the same position. "HxD" is the hexeditor that i use, it's free and it does the job.

Thank you! The saved game is already recognizable. I used HxD as you said and changed GQSPAFÿ.TOS to GQSSAFÿ.TOS_000. I also had to change the P for an S, taking the new save file as a guide. I don't know how this had been modified before, could it be by using the saved file in an iso of different region?
Anyway, thank you so much! Smile
