TOS basically runs at 60 fps at all times, except during boss fights which it drops to like 45-60 this has been the case for the first 2 bosses in the game, and the 2nd I am unable to beat because of it. I'm using OpenMP Texture Decoder, DSP LLE recompiler w/ DSP LLE on thread. Help please lol I'm fairly stumped. I'm allso playing in direct3D11 as well, don't know if that has anything to do with it or not as I haven't tried 9 etc.

Your CPU is weak for any game that use LLE
i5 3570k or better CPU (i5 4670k) is recommended

My cpu is causing my fps to drop during a boss fight? And no place else in the game? That doesn't make even a little bit of sense. As there are more enemies on screen and more things going on in a normal fight than a boss fight and my fps doesn't move from 60 untill I fight a boss.

That's how it is
My laptop can run Monster Hunter 3 full speed all the time except boss battle . My friend has i5 2500k , he has no slowdown in boss battle whatever
Note that Dolphin is a dual core application and your CPU single threaded performance is not as fast as Intel Core 2 Quad clock for clock
As for solution , you can try :
_Overclock your CPU to 4.0GHz (Edit : Make sure you keep 4 cores running at 4GHz , you still need 20% performance for background processing . If you disable 4 cores and keep 2 cores , you will lose 20% performance)
_Use Dolphin 3.5 & Dolphin 3.5 145
_Use Direct3D9 , it's always faster than Direct3D11 and OpenGL

If you want a performance boost, stop using LLE audio. Use a Dolphin revision of 3.5-77 or higher; they work flawlessly with HLE audio for this game (no more sound issues for most people) and it's definitely less demanding on your CPU's resources.

Like I said before . Use Dolphin 3.5 145 and Settings for Speed , keep using Direct3D9 , 4x Internal Resolution ,no Anti-Aliasing , 16x AF

Dolphin Development aim for accuracy , you may lose performance over time . If you can't find any solution , it's best for you to upgrade your PC

What revision do you recommend?

Really, any revision from 3.5-77 or higher. The latest revision is usually good for most people. The latest one is 3.5-412, you can download it from here: http://dolphin-emu.org/download/

EDIT: Actually, it's advisable to use something higher than 3.5-135 for this issue here. So yeah, just use the latest and you won't have to worry about any problems like that.

I can't stress enough how improved the audio for this game has become in recent revisions. ToS is a great game, so everyone deserves to play this at fullspeed Wink

I agree with you entirely, I played it way back in 2003 when I was like 12 now I'm 20, I beat it like 4 or 5 times back then. Now I want to beat it on mania Smile I am following what you said to do right now, and it works flawlessly now. Thank you very much Smile
