The Phenom II x4 might overclock a little better than what you have now. I can't be certain because I've never had any experience with a 370K. It appears that it is all clock and very little cache. If you get a Phenom II and overclock it, you could expect very good performance.

The 370k can overclock better. It's piledriver. The ipc is better than phenom ii but not by much.

With an overclocked Phenom II (not less than 4.0 GHz) he'll get a correct speed in both games he listed

Seems like a legit suggestion. Just get a good cooler and thermal paste and verify that your motherboard supports those kinds of tweaks.

I agree with DatKid20. It's already at 4GHz though. That's the stock speed. 4.5GHz is what he should be aiming for. At 4.5GHz it should run TP well possibly even fullspeed on dolphin 4.0 so long as he doesn't use LLE audio and with the exception of hyrule field.
