lenny12,
Thats not a release format.. And so far i know it doesnt compress. What adds quite a few mb . 29,7mb compared to something like 9mb.. See the diffrents ? 06-10-2009, 02:18 AM
Lol, good to see n00b chat (sorry if it's so offensive), but SVN is TOTALLY ANOTHER THING!

there's no reason you couldn't distribute and version binary files with svn...in fact i know of some projects that do that. Not sure if googlecode would like that though...would be a HUGE bandwidth hog (that's the main reason finding a good format to use is hard for daco/nevada as well)

Just put the Build folder (without config files savegames etc) in a seperate SVN project and share the link. It's true that you need a SVN server ... but that is another thing... 06-10-2009, 02:31 AM
shuffle2,
Yeah you could download/upload binary files from a svn, But thats more a upload location aka rapidshare/megaupload then a release format. And yes it is hard to find a good format, So i started this thread to figure out what most people like the most. 06-10-2009, 02:40 AM

Well the poll closed,
As i put it to 7 days, What should be quite enough. And it seems .rar is still the most wanted, After that .7z what i kinda expected. So for people building releases, It seems you should just do .rar or .7z, .7z will give a better compression, And if i remember correct WinRAR supports .7z, But it depens on you . 06-13-2009, 04:26 AM
Well, EmuCraze doesn't support *.7z and *.rar, so I'm trying to post *.7z archives in *.zip ones
