Its also work noting that the latest sku of the Surface 2 has had a processor bump from the 4200u to the 4300u which increases the base clock from 1.6 to 1.9 and the burst speed from 2.6 to 2.9. Its still not going to run demanding games easily but an 18% bump in the base clock is not to be sniffed at.

I've not picked one up yet but Im thinking about getting a surface 2 pro as a tablet instead of my ipad air. Just need to check them out in person first.
