Support - Memory Card Slot A ???

Now I am a newbie, so don't let my lack of computer knowledge astound you.

Whenever I click on Dolphin and open up Super Smash Brothers (Which is the only GC game I have), I always get the message "There is no Memory Card in Slot A". I don't know how to set a memory card. I went under options and tried to, but none of the options I selected worked. Can someone help? Thank you.

:/ main Dolphin config, "Gamecube" tab, "Slot A", choose "Memory Card", hit the ". . ." and choose where to save the memory card
The default Dolphin options should be fine though.
