Hello folks ,
Me and my buddy got ourselfs the latest version of Dolphin Emulator (3.0.872-dirty) and Super Smash Bros. Melee and we wanted to play some with the netplay feature.
Connecting and joining is not a problem. Where the problem kicks in is at one hand the performance of the game ( best case = 80% Speed ) and secondly a very weird kind of lag.
Let me try to explain what I mean : When we play a game its like we both play different matches. He sees what I have done 5 seconds ago (like grabbing an item for example) and at some point he would just suicide for me and I am suiciding for him ( jumping off the cliff in-game ofc ). EVEN the outcome of the round is different for both ( I see myself as winner and he sees himself as the winner)
Are there some tweaks in order to increase performance as you have to turn off dual-core ? We are both on high-end gaming rigs with an extremely good internet connection. Should we use another dolphin version ? This HAS to work better somehow.
Also : We had the exact same problem with Super Smash Bros. on a N64 emulator. Other person jumping into death.
We have not let the application scan for a perfect buffer we have just used 20 (saw the '?' button too late)
My Rig :
AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3,8GHz
ATI Radeon HD6870 , 1GB DDR5
8GB DDR3 RAM
