Hi forum! I am playing SSBB with Dolphin, and I have almost always a good speed with 57-60 fps at 1080p. My problem starts when I'm playing a typical smash fight. Everything is ok, but sometimes there are some "stops" in which there is a slowdown and the FPS counter indicates 45. But that lag only last a fraction of a second and then, everything continue as normal. The game is smooth and it runs good but this annoying problem makes the game not feeling comfortable because you lose precision when it happens. I don't know if it is an issue or a bad config, but I'm almost sure that my notebook is not the problem because I can run Wind Waker at 1080p 3D without any trouble.
Also, I have a tiny error (that doesn't have anything to do with the lag problem) which does not allow me to open properties of the game in Dolphin's list. It gives me the error of the image.     When I click on "retry", a message indicates that Dolphin.exe stop working.
Thanks in advance.

The brief slowdowns are a typical Dolphin problem that happens even if you have a powerful computer. The problem should go away once you've played the game for a short while.

As for the error with the properties... Hmm, I'm not really sure what causes it, and it's hard to find out without having a debug environment. It doesn't happen for me with NTSC-U SSBB, so there might be something different with your ISO. Why is it 6.75 GiB? SSBB is bigger than that normally, so did you trim it?

Well, my SSBB is a PAL version which was ripped with my own Wii. I didn't care about the size so the game was left on the computer without doing any change on it. The Wii gave me the game on .wbfs format, and it is splitted in two files. Is that a problem, or should I get a normal ISO?

I don't think that should lead to any problems. If you want to get rid of the error, there's a chance that re-dumping it as a regular ISO might help, but I'm only suggesting that because I can't think of anything better.

Finally, re-dumped the two wbfs files into a single ISO and now, it leads me open the properties on Dolphin!
Thank you for your replies!

The reason why it lags initially at the beginning of matches is because it hasn't built up the shader cache.

To build up the shader cache and avoid lag, you should do all of the following:
A) Play with every skin on every character
B) Play on every stage
C) Use every item (I don't play with items, so this isn't a problem for me)
D) Don't switch your Texture Accuracy (not sure about this, but just to be safe. Can this be confirmed if this messes up the cache or not?)
E) Use only one version of Dolphin (switching versions requires a rebuild of the shader cache)

Also as a tip, changing your graphics card will also deplete the shader cache.

I have been working on getting the shaders on Project M 3.6 lately.
