What's weird in that screenshot is that there's no red dot at all...

That just means the mouse pointer was outside Dolphin's window.

I don't have this game, but by default most disable the wiimote's IR camera when an extension is inserted to save battery life... maybe they messed up and forgot to change that default behaviour for this game i.e. try setting the extension to none instead of nunchuk.

Did you try tueidj suggestion? Changing Wiimote Extension to "none"?

Ok I got it to work. Last question, but not a bug deal; can I make it so it doesnt always show as it pointing when the cursor is on the emulator without holding th e"hide" key? JW

Use a ! NOT (right click the button to show advanced options). That way, the cursor (Tippi) will only "point" at the screen while you're holding the Hide button...

I had the same problem but i think i fixed it. I think it had to  with tilt settings on the emulated wii remote. I made the tilt circle stick 10. and the angle 40. I made the hide for the IR... NOT M. I made the forward for the tilt t. And the A button C. I turned off wii motor or something in another menu. Then when I went to the invisible door that tippi had to see i pressed and held down M. And T. And then pressed C. It took a lot of trial and error to get this to work. I spent probably a trying things and searching for help. Also if anyone is having trouble with paper mario the thousand year door what worked for me after trying pretty much everything was disabling the sound.
